East Gallery Angles

from $425.00

This vignette from the south facade of the East Building echoes the clean planes and sharp angles used throughout the landmark building.

The East Building of the National Gallery of Art stands out in Washington, DC as a modern marvel, sleekly contrasting with the Beaux Arts and Classical architecture seen throughout much of the nation’s capital. The unusual trapezoidal site dictated a unique design which architect I.M Pei resolved using a combination of triangles. Completed in 1978; I.M. Pei, architect.

Honorable Mention: Architecture, Professional, Monochrome Awards, 2021.
