Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Limited Edition Print? Limited Edition prints are signed and numbered and are offered in limited numbers to protect their long-term value. Limited edition prints are personally inspected and signed by the artist to ensure the highest possible quality. A certificate of authenticity is provided with each Limited Edition print. The number of prints in an edition is listed on the website. When a limited edition artwork is purchased, the next available edition number is automatically selected and assigned to that purchase. Records are kept for each limited edition print that is sold to ensure the accuracy of the edition. As the editions sell out for each artwork and fewer pieces are available, the price goes up on that image. Prices for limited edition prints will also rise as their popularity increases; they will never be sold at less than the current price. The current prices are listed on the website.

What is an Open Edition Print? Open Edition prints are not signed or numbered, and the total number of prints of an image are not limited. Offering Open Edition prints allows us to make high quality fine art prints available at a lower cost.

Do you offer custom sizes? Yes, we can produce custom sizes of Limited Edition prints to suit your setting. Please contact me to discuss your project. We don’t alter cropping or otherwise alter the image to accommodate sizing.

Can you offer any advice for framing and displaying? Your print is made of archival materials that will last a lifetime but it is still fragile and should be taken to a framer as soon as possible. Avoid handling your unframed print; wearing cotton gloves is recommended for handling as skin oils can damage prints. Also, prints are not meant to be stored in a tube for extended periods of time; they should be stored flat.

We advise your framer to dry-mount the work on acid-free board using archival tissue and materials. This will ensure that your print will remain flat once framed. UV and infrared rays can damage prints over time, so UV protective glass or plexiglass should be used, and prints should not be hung where they are subjected to direct sunlight; fading, yellowing, bleaching, and color change can result. Any artificial light sources used should produce visible light only, with UV and IR light eliminated. Avoid using chemical cleaning products as they can cause the protective coatings to deteriorate over time. Proper framing and displaying will add years to the life of your print.

What type of payments do you offer? We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diners Club; ApplePay and Link; and ACH Direct Debit. You will be billed at the time of order. If you need to use another form of payment, contact the studio and we will work to accommodate you.

Do you charge sales tax? Fonda Photographic is located in the State of Pennsylvania, USA, who’s laws require us to charge 6% sales tax to products shipped to PA addresses, and 8% to addresses in the City of Philadelphia. No sales tax is collected to other US or international addresses. International clients are responsible for paying any international fees, duties, customs, and taxes.

How do I see the status of my order? Upon purchase you will receive an email confirming the purchase, and then an email confirming shipping of your order with tracking information.

What is your return policy? Our prints, both Limited and Open Editions, are custom printed to your order and, as such, refunds / returns or exchanges can not be offered.

What is your shipping policy? Open edition prints are shipped via UPS and typically arrive within 6-10 days. The cost for shipping prints to the US is under $20; the cost for framed prints varies by size, but is generally less than $35. International shipping rates vary by destination, but are roughly similar to rates for the US. Rates for framed prints to Canada are higher. Costs are calculated at the time of purchase. All shipping costs are at the discretion of the shipping agent, and therefore subject to change.

Limited edition prints are generally shipped in the US via FedEx and typically arrive with in 10-14 days. There is a flat $30 fee for shipping limited edition prints which covers packaging costs. The actual cost to ship the package is covered in the price of the print. To ensure their safe arrival, prints are wrapped between two sheets of glassine paper and rolled around a heavy duty shipping tube. The inner tube and print are wrapped in bubble wrap and inserted in a second, larger heavy duty shipping tube. Due to the variations in the cost to ship to international addresses, shipping to destinations outside of the US are determined on a per case basis; please contact the studio for a quote.
