Classroom Line-Up

from $500.00

Students await the start of class at l'Ecole Methodiste in Petionville (Port-au-Prince), Haiti. There are no public schools in Haiti; many are run by churches, but all require tuition, and uniforms are common.

I made six trips to Haiti in the late 1990's doing work for several NGO's (non-governmental organizations). This was a period of relative quiet in the country, and travel was generally fairly safe.

This image was made on one of those trips in 2000.
